One World, One School: Berry Hill Students Take Flight for Multicultural Week!

One World, One School: Berry Hill Students Take Flight for Multicultural Week!

From the terminal to the classroom, the Berry Hill Multicultural Committee and the P.T.A. recently took our students on a whirlwind journey around the globe without ever leaving the building! It was a vibrant, week-long celebration of the diverse traditions, landmarks, and flavors that make our community so special.

A Week of Global Discovery

Our "travelers" explored the world through a series of immersive, hands-on activities:

  • Monday: Clearance for Takeoff! The P.T.A. transformed our lobby into "Berry Hill International Airport." Students checked in, received their passports, and saw them proudly displayed on the BH Airways bulletin boards lining our hallways.
  • Tuesday: Packing & Party Time! Students met with their "buddy classes" to design custom carry-on tote bags in preparation for the main event—Multicultural Night! The evening was a massive success, filled with rhythmic musical performances, a global feast, and community connection.
  • Wednesday: Dress to Impress! The hallways were a sea of color as students wore traditional cultural attire or outfits representing their favorite travel destinations.
  • Thursday: Landmark Architects Our young engineers used Legos, blocks and other materials to recreate iconic world landmarks, blending history with hands-on creativity.
  • Friday: Wish You Were Here! To close out the trip, students wrote postcards to friends in other grades, sharing their favorite memories and reflecting on everything they learned about the world!
