Berry Hill’s Young Bards: A Morning of Magic at the Poetry Café

Our 2nd-grade classrooms underwent a stunning transformation this week, shedding their desks for the cozy, rhythmic ambiance of a professional Poetry Café. Draped in elegant tablecloths and illuminated by the soft glow of candles and fairy lights, the rooms provided the perfect backdrop for our recent Curriculum Celebration.

Families joined their young poets to journey through various interactive stations, collaborating to craft original verses using the styles and structures mastered throughout the unit. The event culminated in a heartfelt "open mic" session, where students took center stage to perform original works written during the unit. It was a beautiful display of creativity, confidence, and the power of the written word!
