Berry Hill’s Unforgettable Double Celebration: 100 Days Smarter & P.S. I Love You Day!

Berry Hill’s Unforgettable Double Celebration: 100 Days Smarter & P.S. I Love You Day!

The halls of Berry Hill Elementary were a vibrant mix of purple pride and "centenarian" spirit as we held a spectacular double celebration for the 100th Day of School and P.S. I Love You Day.

Math, Movement, and... Strawberries?

To celebrate 100 days of learning, our students turned into master mathematicians. Using large dice, classes worked together to add, subtract, multiply, and divide their way to exactly 100! The excitement peaked with a school-wide scavenger hunt as students searched high and low to find 100 hidden strawberries tucked away in their classrooms.

The energy moved from the classroom to the gym as our Physical Education teachers, Mr. Lertora and Ms. Taglioni, challenged the entire school to complete 100 exercises—ensuring we reached our milestone with healthy hearts and high spirits.

Purple Pride & Musical Kindness

Simultaneously, we celebrated P.S. I Love You Day, dressing in purple to stand together for kindness and mental health awareness. The morning began on a high note in the lobby, where Mrs. Neri and our select orchestra students serenaded everyone with "songs of kindness" near our festive balloon arch and photo booth.

Our school-wide assembly brought the community even closer:

  • A Message of Love: We heard from our P.S. I Love You coordinators and enjoyed a touching read-aloud of Someone Loves You, Mr. Hatch.
  • Voices in Unison: Mrs. Merceica led a heartwarming school-wide sing-along. From the soulful "This Little Light of Mine" to Bruno Mars’ "Count on Me," the music echoed our commitment to supporting one another.
  • Buddies & Bright Lights: In honor of the 2026 theme, "Be the Light," students met with their buddy classes to craft lanterns, symbolizing how doing the right thing lights up our world.
