Berry Hill 4th Graders 'Shine' a Light on Diwali!
As part of the World Language FLEX program, 4th-grade students at Berry Hill Elementary recently celebrated global citizenship by learning about Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Guided by Mrs. Arata, students participated in an engaging gallery walk featuring photographs that showcased the essential elements of the vibrant celebration—from intricate rangoli designs and delicious sweets to beautiful lamps and family gatherings. Armed with their observation journals, the young learners jotted down their insights and discoveries about this important cultural festival.
The Elementary World Language FLEX program is designed to expose students to a variety of world languages and cultures, helping them build a foundation for an informed foreign language choice when they transition to middle school.
